Leandro Manfrotto: A Journey of Personal and Artistic Evolution

Born in 2002 in Bassano del Grappa, Italy, Leandro Manfrotto’s journey into the realm of art began at an early age. His fascination with the appreciation of everyday necessities and the art of self-production shaped his early years, laying the foundation for a burgeoning career in fine art. Leandro’s academic pursuits led him from Italy to the vibrant city of Barcelona, and ultimately to London, where he currently resides and works out of his studio, while pursuing a BA in Fine Art at the prestigious Central Saint Martins.

 Leandro’s artistic philosophy is deeply rooted in the promotion of interpersonal understanding and personal development. Through his art, he seeks not only to express his innermost thoughts and experiences but also to engage in a constant quest for progress. His paintings, characterized by their exclusive use of oil on canvas, serve as a medium for exploring themes of new beginnings, discomfort, and a striving towards goodness.

 Leandro’s work is a testament to his belief in the power of art as a means of self-improvement. His paintings often depict landscapes, human figures, and still-life, each imbued with layers of meaning that emerge from the unconscious, revealing themselves fully only upon the completion of the work. The use of impasto adds depth and texture, inviting viewers to delve into the complexities of his creations.

 While immersed in a Mexican (Oaxaca) art residency, Leandro stumbles upon the captivating world of material painting. Exploring diverse textures for his canvases and experimenting with various paint mediums, he undergoes a transformative time.

 “Pragmática” encapsulates his ongoing exploration of life’s challenges and the pursuit of happiness through art. The title reflects his dedication to expressing his capabilities to the fullest, aiming for a continuous refinement of his skills and an unwavering aspiration for excellence. Each piece in the exhibition is a reflection of Leandro’s path, marked by moments of introspection and a deliberate selection of elements that resonate with his vision.
