ROSA AGENJO

FUERZA VITAL

Doctor of Fine Arts, she works as a teacher at the University of Barcelona (UB), where she has been teaching drawing technique and history since 1981. But not only this. She is also engaged in art. She finished her first oil painting at the age of 10 and, since then, she has not stopped painting. She has had exhibitions at La Illa Diagonal and galleries in Barcelona such as ArtCentre, Àmbit,  3 Punts, or Dau al Set . Her work has also reached France, Switzerland, and the United States. In the form of abstract and figurative art. The author of it has been influenced by the great masters of painting and she has taken inspiration from themes such as the Catalan Popular tradition and Flamenco culture.

All this, the result of "the discoveries that one makes in life". This is the one that truly shapes the creative orientation of the artist – affirms the painter from her Barcelona studio, surrounded by pictures and paintings, mannequins and dresses, various tools and some still brand new canvases.

This is Rosa Agenjo, a woman dedicated to art, also to literature, who considers herself both a teacher and an artist. For her, "teaching is a vital experience" -she says expressively and smiling from a corner chair in her workshop, located in the L'Eixample neighborhood.
